This course will introduction you to the essential skills needed for effective Christian counseling. Students will spend a significant amount of time practicing basic counseling skills through role playing and real-life interactions with critical review by both peers and the instructor.

It will include fundamental vocabulary and skills used in Christian Counseling. This course will also give background knowledge to some of the theories in individual, couples, and family counseling.

Course Goal:

The goal of this course is to helps a person cope with mental or
emotional distress and understand and solve personal problems.
• Develop and maintain healthy boundaries
• Facilitate cohesion and communication
• Promote problem-solving by a better understanding of family
• dynamics
• Build empathy and understanding
• Reduce conflict within the family

  • By studying the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament, we learn the origin, purpose and bearing of God’s relationship and His covenant with Israel.

  • The Bible will be our main source for scripture reference.
  • You will receive your course book from Faith Bible College.


  • Students are encouraged to take good notes and listen
  • attentively in class. Participation is key.
